The Gift Guide

A gift is a different decision from an engagement ring. There is no size to guess at, no six-month runway, and no proposal riding on it — but it still has to be right. This is how to shop the collection when you are buying for someone else.

An honest note: Ghavelli's fine-jewelry line — studs, pendants, tennis bracelets, chains — is still in production. Bridal is what ships today. Every category below is built and will fill as pieces land; where a collection is still empty, it says so rather than showing you nothing and hoping you don't notice.

By budget

  • Under $250 — the smallest gestures: solid-gold studs, fine chains, single-stone pendants.
  • Under $500 — larger studs, huggie hoops, bezel pendants.
  • Under $1,000 — tennis bracelets, solitaire necklaces, the pieces that get worn every day for a decade.

Bridal starts at $1,290. If your gift is a ring, start at under $2,000 instead.

By occasion

Anniversary

The traditional answer is an eternity band or a tennis bracelet — something that reads as an addition to what she already wears rather than a replacement for it. Match the metal to the engagement ring; our metal guide covers how to tell white gold from platinum on sight.

Birthday

Studs are the safest fine-jewelry gift there is: no sizing, no styling risk, worn by nearly everyone who has pierced ears. Half a carat total weight is the size most people reach for first.

Graduation

Something to mark the day that took four years — a bezel pendant or a slim chain, worn under a collar or over one.

Push presents

For the harder of the two jobs. Bezel settings are the practical choice here: nothing to catch on a blanket, a sleeve, or a small hand.

Promise rings

Not an engagement ring, and not pretending to be one. If there is any chance it will be read as a proposal, size it for the right hand.

By recipient

  • Gifts for her — earrings, necklaces and bracelets, made to order in recycled gold.
  • Gifts for him — bands, signets and chains, graded to the same standard as everything else we make.

What to know before you buy

Sizing

Earrings and necklaces have no size to get wrong, which is why they carry most of the gift traffic. If you are giving a ring, our ring size chart shows how to measure a band she already owns without asking her anything.

Timing

Made-to-order pieces take 2–3 weeks. If the date is sooner than that, shop ready to ship, which is stocked inventory rather than production.

What arrives

Insured shipping, a Ghavelli box, and the independent grading report for the centre stone. Nothing is priced with a comparison figure struck through next to it — the price is the price.

If it isn't right

Thirty days to return, one year of free resizing, and a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Full terms on warranty & returns.
